The Interceptor
A downloadable game for Windows
What is it?
A real-time strategy game about thoughtfully placing down radars and launchers to intercept enemy rockets fired at your territory.
Radars detect the enemy rockets, launchers launch the actual interceptors to stop them. Both have limited range and capabilities, and neither can work without the other, so you must place them down mindfully to maximize your protection coverage!
How to play?
Hold right mouse button and drag = move camera
Scroll wheel = zoom
Hold scroll wheel and drag = pivot camera
Place down radar + launcher = click on 'Build' at the bottom center UI
Fire launcher = hold left mouse button while hovering near launcher, drag line to incoming rocket and once line snaps to target, release. (red line = enemy missile target, blue line = predicted interception point)
View current enemy fire range = hover on 'Targeted Zones' at bottom right UI (enemy will fire rockets at cities within the highlighted ranges.
Inspiration
Inspired by real life active war zones, trying to capture the phenomenon of real, deadly hostile rockets flying towards you, and you using your technical capabilities to try and defend yourself by intercepting them in mid-air by launching your own 'interceptors' missiles.
It's Just a Prototype
This is just a prototype, a technical demo of sorts. It's not yet an actual game, though I have plans to do that in the future.
Feel free to look around and share your thoughts about the game in the comments! :)
